Xiu Xiu/High Places single now available!

Ok people, finally we have the Xiu Xiu/High Places single is available for purchase!

this single was a long time coming, and has been plagued with production delays, lost test pressings among other stuff. here's the info:

"A collaboration between Oakland, Ca's Xiu Xiu, Brooklyn, NY's High Places, and transnational photographer David Horvitz. Xiu Xiu delivers the haunting "Kitten Revolution", a b-side from his critically aclaimed Women as Lovers. High Places continues their brand of reverb laden african-pop on "Oceanus". If that wasn't enough, each single comes with its own original poloroid picture taken by David Horvitz. Every single is unique and one of a kind.

Singles are limited to 1000 copies, with 300 white tour/web editions. We have about 100 copies on white, and its on a first come, first serve basis."

Blevin Blectum's latest album, "Gular Flutter" is now available on our webstore!

For those not yet converted, here's a blurb about the record from Mr. Drew Daniel (Matmos).

"Breaking a four year silence with her strongest album to date, Blevin Blectum's "Gular Flutter" confirms her gift for making electronic music that is allergic to cliche. Blectum's new songs throb with swarms of transient surface details, but they never come off as hap-hazard. Asked about her title, Blevin notes that "Gular fluttering is the pulsation of the upper esophagus in some species of birds in response to heat-stress," an oblique reference from avian anatomy that stems from her recently completed training as a veterinary technician. It's a title that perfectly captures the mysteriously organic shifts that pulsate across this heavily processed music."

Thanks to John

As you can see we're looking a little bit more colorful! I know, a breath of fresh air.

So I'd like to take a second to thank our buddy John Schroeder for helping us spruce up the place.

In other Aagoo news...

To everyone waiting with concerns about mailorder delays, it is simply because we ran out of 7 inch mailers and the company we buy them from took forever to ship them to us because they had run out. We do have them in our hands, and all orders for 7"s will be going out.If you have a subscription to the Picture Disc Series, we will be shipping throughout the month of June. We have nearly 100 subscribers, and need to keep everything organized to make sure everyone gets what they want/need.

Au has made a huge impact digitally since his album premiered early on eMusic last week. The day after its release it held the #1 spot on the eMusic charts, and has remained in the top 10 for over a week!

more news coming soon...so hot here in New York...

Parenthetical Girls Picture Disc 7" Out Now!

So the the second installment of the oh so coveted Aagoo David Horvitz picture disc series is now available!

What a better way to rejoice in the magic that is spring than to be treated to a brand new song from Portland's twisted pop angels, the Parenthetical Girls. Not only have they graced us with a remix of a track from their upcoming Entanglements album, but also with a jaw dropping cover of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark's "Joan Of Arc (Maid of Orleans)". The single also includes appearances by Northwest heavy Hitters Jherek Bischoff (Dead Science) and Luke Wyland (Au).

Joan of Arc (Maid of Orleans) - Parenthetical Girls

To all subscribers, the singles will be shipping throughout the month of June. We're waiting on more 7" mailers that should be here this week.

Spring Tour Extravaganza!

So there are two pretty amazing tours happening very soon on the west coast.

Foot Foot and Casiotone for the Painfully Alone will be jaunting their way all over the West Coast and even inland a little. You don't want to miss this show, Pat and I had the wonderful opportunity to see CFTPA in NYC 2 times and were amazed! Foot Foot, as a duo is possibly the most blissful experience one can witness.

So if that wasn't enough of a treat for everyone on the pacific shoreline, the unofficially dubbed "Aagoo Revue" will hit the shoreline with Au, Parenthetical Girls, and PWRFL Power. All sporting brand spanking new releases on Aagoo.

oh, for tour dates check our tour section.

Also, if you are an Emusic subscriber, you can now download the "RR vs. D" single which also includes an amazing stoner metal live version of "Death" available exclusively on Emusic. Click here to check it out!
